Adaptability of materials to free forging press equipment
Free forging aluminum alloy: When the forging deformation is large, the hydraulic press is preferred, otherwise it can be optional.
Niobium alloy: The hydraulic press is preferred because of the good forgeability at slow speed.
Copper alloy: Hammer, screw press or crank press are preferred, but bronze and high-zinc brass, which are sensitive to deformation rate, should be preferred.
Niobium alloys: hammers, screw presses and crank presses. When alloys are required for high temperature forging, hydraulic presses are preferred.
Magnesium alloy: Due to its poorly deformable forgeability, a hydraulic press should be preferred.
Molybdenum alloy: When high temperature forging is requested, hammer, screw press or crank press are preferred.
Nickel-based alloy: selected according to the section thickness of the forging; forging a thin section (less than 12.7 mm) forging, it is preferred to use a hammer, a screw press, or a crank press, otherwise it may be optional.
Carbon steel and low-alloy steel: When forging a forging or a scale with a thin section, it is preferable to use a hammer, a screw press or a crank press, otherwise it may be optional.
Stainless steel: Forgings with a thin section, preferably a hammer, screw press or crank press, otherwise optional.
Niobium alloy: For high temperature forging, hammer, screw press or crank press are preferred.
Titanium alloy: Forgings with a thin section, preferably a hammer, screw press or crank press, otherwise optional.
Tungsten alloy: For high temperature forging, hammer, screw press or crank press are preferred.
Zirconium alloy: When the blank has a wrap, the hydraulic press (above 760 ° C) is preferred; the forging temperature is lower than 760 ° C, optional.
